Basic 2 days

Course description: This 2-day online/onsite course is designed to introduce participants to Rhino.Inside.Revit, a technology that enables the use of Rhino and Grasshopper inside the Autodesk Revit environment. The course focuses on teaching participants how to integrate Rhino and Grasshopper into Revit to create and edit geometry, generate complex patterns, and perform advanced modeling. Through a combination of tutorials, exercises and hands-on applications, participants will gain a fundamental understanding of Rhino.Inside.Revit and its potential for design and modeling in the construction industry.

Course objectives:

  • Understand the concept of Rhino.Inside.Revit and its integration with Revit.
  • Using Rhino and Grasshopper to create geometry and patterns within Revit.
  • Work with parametric modeling and customizable design work in Revit.
  • Integrate external tools and plug-ins to extend the functionality of Rhino.Inside.Revit.
  • Apply basic algorithms and data types to manipulate geometric data in the Revit environment.

Course content:

  • Day 1:
    • Introduction to Rhino.Inside.Revit and its potential in the construction industry
    • Installation and configuration of the Rhino.Inside.Revit environment
    • Create and edit geometry with Rhino and Grasshopper inside Revit
    • Work with parametric modeling and dynamic components in Revit
  • Day 2:
    • Create complex patterns and structures with Grasshopper inside Revit
    • Use external libraries and plug-ins to extend the functionality of Rhino.Inside.Revit
    • Integrate Python scripts for advanced modeling and customizable design work
    • Export and share models and design projects between Rhino and Revit

Course requirements:

  • Computer with internet access and the ability to install Rhino, Grasshopper and Revit (student versions can be used).
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with 3D modeling and parametric modeling.
  • No previous experience with Rhino.Inside.Revit is required, but a desire to learn and explore its capabilities is necessary.

Assessment: Participants will be assessed by participation in course activities and by completing exercises and practical applications using Rhino.Inside.Revit. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate confirming their participation and basic knowledge of Rhino.Inside.Revit.
